For projects such as housing developments, business premises, roads or municipal infrastructure, businesses, developers, towns and municipalities may need suitable land to deliver legally required mitigation measures.
eMission-X finds and acquires land in Germany to allow long-term natural development. Where the aims and obligations of a specific mitigation project are compatible with this approach, we assess opportunities to work together.

Practical possibilities.
We are not starting from scratch. eMission-X already owns land in several German federal states, including woodland, peatland, grassland and waterways. Key areas include Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg and Sachsen.
When we receive an enquiry, we can first assess whether one of our existing sites meets the geographical, ecological and legal requirements for the mitigation measure. If our existing land is insufficient, we can seek and acquire further suitable properties.
Please note: Not every natural or protected area can deliver the additional ecological enhancement required for statutory mitigation. Whether a particular site can be recognised is decided in the relevant procedure, including required measures, protection arrangements and any ongoing management obligations.

From land requirements to a nature project.

First assess our own land and, where necessary, seek further suitable properties. The relevant authorities determine recognition of the measures through the applicable procedure.

Where cooperation is possible, agree binding arrangements for land acquisition, legal protection, required measures, management and documentation.

No ecological credits.
We do not sell mitigation sites with blanket approval and currently do not operate an ecological compensation account. Suitability depends on the specific project, federal state, ecological enhancement and official requirements.
Legally required development or management measures must be reliably fulfilled. Not every site is suitable for mitigation, and not every measure is compatible with largely undisturbed natural development.
We therefore assess together whether a sustainable long-term solution is possible and what form it could take.
