Our Rewilding Site Near Eickhof

The approximately 1,100 m² natural area managed by eMission-X is located near Eickhof in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The property is situated in the Warnow Valley, runs parallel to a forest road, and is just a few steps away from the Warnow River.

Various trees, shrubs, and wild herbs are already growing on the site. This existing vegetation provides the foundation for the property’s continued natural development.

Natural Succession Instead of Management

The site is not used for agricultural or forestry purposes. Timber harvesting is also not planned.

Major measures to kickstart the renaturation process are not currently necessary. Instead, we are largely leaving the property to natural succession.

Vegetation can spread, change, and become denser without the area being regularly managed or maintained.

Rewilding in the Warnow Valley

Its proximity to the Warnow River makes Eickhof another key component of our rewilding sites in this region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Our goal is not to permanently maintain the site in a specific state. Rather, we are creating the conditions that allow nature to develop as independently as possible once again.

The land therefore remains permanently owned by eMission-X and is taken out of economic use.

Buy land. Cease use. Let nature take its course.
