eMission-X – Approaches – Goals – Aspirations
Since we at eMission-X have been asked more frequently lately whether there are actually many companies that take the same approach as we do, we’d like to provide a brief overview of our approaches, goals, aspirations, and what sets us apart from others.
1. We purchase our properties
There are many similar companies, but they lease the land. Why lease? The capital investment is lower. And in a way, it’s also a bit of a “after me, the deluge” business model.
No one knows what will happen to the restored land after reforestation and once the lease expires.
We make this transparent to everyone.
2. We buy land in Germany
Other companies have shifted their business model abroad. Why? It’s obviously easier to obtain grants in Germany for nature conservation projects abroad than in Germany itself. The land abroad is also often only leased, so there’s virtually no legal certainty. Another advantage of the business model abroad is that it provides financial support to the “rural population.” This is also a great opportunity to include a few clichéd photos. It’s also helpful to include a few pictures of wild animals that live there—jaguars, monkeys, parrots, crocodiles… just to name a few. Naturally, the local wildlife has a harder time. When you consider how hard it already is for wolves in Germany, I’d rather not hear the outcry if jaguars or crocodiles were involved. Furthermore, fast-growing species like bamboo or eucalyptus are often used (https://www.foodwatch.org/fileadmin/-DE/Themen/Klimaluegen/Aldi/foodwatch_Factsheet_Guanare.pdf).
3. We don’t interfere with nature
Large foundations, in particular, like to tout “sustainable forestry,” “nature-oriented management,” and similar concepts.
Let’s not kid ourselves, though—the sole purpose behind this is to generate profit through the sale of timber, and to do so on a long-term basis.
And to ensure this doesn’t take too long, the foundations are happy to receive donated forests that, to quote them, “should be at least 70 years old”—that way, they can make money from them more quickly.
And the areas should probably be as large as possible so that clearing them is economically viable.
Any interference with nature destroys flora and fauna.
That has nothing to do with sustainability.
Under this premise, interventions in the tropical rainforest would also be completely acceptable.
If we acted that way, the tropical rainforest in the Amazon region would no longer exist.
We’d be delighted if you’d donate or sell us land—even small plots—at a reasonable price.
From our perspective, every square meter counts.
4. We don’t offer a return on investment
Where there is no interference with nature, there is no return on investment. So no “green impact investing,” no “green finance.”
eMission-X isn’t based in the country’s most prestigious locations, and there are only two of us.
That means very low administrative costs and no salaries.
There are no cooperative shares, no bonuses for “referral programs,” and since we have no members, you can’t save up to 68 euros per share over a certain period, nor is there a promise of an X percent return after 28 years when the first trees are then cut down.
We’re sorry. The only “dividend” we offer is the sequestration of CO2 and the protection of Germany’s flora and fauna—and thus for future generations.
Our Goals and Aspirations
We are happy to purchase land from the industrial agricultural sector. This land will be permanently removed from the agricultural industry. There will be no further use of fertilizers, pesticides, etc., on this land. The environment and the groundwater will thank us for it one day.
We’d be delighted if you’d support us. You can do so by donating toward the purchase of land or its subsequent planting, or by offering to sell land that would be suitable for our cause.
Please write to us or take advantage of the opportunity to make a donation.
Thank you in advance.
