Our Rewilding Areas Near Alt Ruppin

eMission-X owns two parcels of land totaling 1,940 m² on the outskirts of Alt Ruppin in Brandenburg.

The areas are located in the Ruppiner Land, a landscape characterized by forests, lakes, wetlands, and farmland.

Both of our properties have been permanently removed from commercial use and left to develop naturally.

Natural succession instead of management

No agricultural or forestry activities take place on these areas. Timber harvesting or regular maintenance is also not planned.

No major measures to kickstart the renaturation process are currently necessary.

Instead, we are observing how the existing vegetation evolves without economic use.

Grasses, wild herbs, shrubs, and trees can spread and change. We do not dictate what kind of natural habitat will emerge in the long term.

Two Small Areas for More Nature

With a total area of 1,940 m², Alt Ruppin is not one of our largest rewilding projects.

However, we deliberately limit our work to areas other than large, contiguous parcels of land. Even smaller areas can be permanently removed from economic use and left to natural processes.

Especially in landscapes where forests, bodies of water, open land, and agricultural use alternate, we want to secure such plots for nature in the long term.

Here, rewilding means above all: letting nature take its course

Alt Ruppin is one of our sites where no major active measures are currently necessary.

We do not plant commercial forests, nor do we attempt to artificially create or permanently maintain a specific landscape condition.

Instead, we are ending commercial use and giving the area time.

Buy land. End commercial use. Let nature take its course.

Permanently preserved for nature

The two parcels of land remain the property of eMission-X and are permanently removed from commercial use.

We intend to observe how the vegetation and structures on these areas change in the coming years without dictating their natural development through regular management.
