Our natural area near Karnin

The 982 m² plot owned by eMission-X is located near Karnin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, between a pine stand and a spruce stand.

The narrow plot resembles a forest glade. Shrubs, young trees, and a natural herb layer have already developed, providing varied structures within the surrounding forest areas.

Until the planned land swap takes place, there will be no commercial use of the property.

Natural Succession

No major measures for accelerated renaturation are required on the site.

Instead, we are allowing the existing vegetation to develop naturally. Shrubs and young trees can grow and alter the structure of the area over time.

There are no plans for forestry use or regular maintenance.

Planned Land Exchange

A land swap is planned for the site near Karnin as part of a land readjustment process.

Under this process, the current property is to be exchanged for another suitable area. The goal is to acquire an area where we can create more space for natural development in the long term.

Until this process is completed, the area near Karnin will remain part of our natural areas.

Rewilding sometimes requires land swaps

Not every property offers the same conditions for rewilding. Location, layout, adjacent land uses, and development potential can vary significantly.

A land swap can therefore be beneficial if it allows us to permanently secure a site that is better suited for nature conservation and natural development.

What matters most to us is not owning as many individual parcels as possible, but creating more space for nature on a permanent basis.
